Hi all, I'm looking for people in a similar situation to me, me and my husband have been trying for a baby for over 4 years now. Got refereed to our local fertility clinic on the nhs and have had 5 lots of clomid, we are about to start a third attempt of iui and if it's unsuccessful again will be starting ivf in the new year. Our fertility issues are unexplained, which I feel makes it even more hard to try and get my head around why it isn't happening for us. I feel totally consumed by it all and am really panicking and worrying that it will never happen for us, it's really getting me down and stressing me out, I know we are really lucky to be getting treatment on the nhs but when you look at the success rates it doesn't seem that great. I know I'm going on and sound really negative but I just feel really confused and isolated, I don't really feel like I can ask the nurses questions because the clinic is always packed and they have lots of people to see to.

Hi. I have a similar story, my husband and I tried for 5 years without success. It took a long time to get him to agree to the test etc, but he eventually did and the journey began...all rest came back fine! Couldn't believe it. So I had a laparoscopy which showed small spots of endometriosis. I felt sure that now it was removed our wish would come true, problem solved. We gave it 6 months, but still nothing. Diagnose with unexplained infertility We were advised to do iui or ivf.Due to my husband having a child from previous marrage we had to pay for any treatment. Throughout this I've ended up having my fertility tests done 3 times! We decided to skip iui, and have ivf. I've just had my one embyo put back. Only one embyo was suitable out of 12 eggs! We ended up paying for icsi, due to hubby having low motility (no idea why this didn't show up before) Could not believe it.devestated. So here iam on my 2 week wait. I've seen that BFN soooo many times over the years and have felt totally alone too. If one more person says "your trying too hard " I swear!!!

It's all so frustrating isn't it, I really hope that it works for you, fingers crossed xxx those two weeks are an absolute killer but hopefully will all be worth the wait in the end!

I get the same kind of comments from my family and close friends who know what we are going through 'try and relax' 'try not think about it too much' 'don't Google things' etc they are just trying to help but I can't help but snap sometimes as it feels like we are the only couple going through this, I think its because we don't know anyone who has had problems conceiving before, we have to wait until February now to start ivf because our clinic is moving in the new year. Only a few months to go but feels like we have to wait forever. I just want the whole thing done now whatever the outcome,

How long of a process is the ivf from starting the meds to having the procedure?

Ok so I just wrote a big loooong message back and it didn't send! Agggg. I'll keep it short for now but please do ask any questions you have, I'll be happy yo help if I can. I had my initial appt 4th June for bloods paper work and pre treatment scan. My consultation with dr was the 5th July. I started bruseralin the 10th aug, could of started gonal f on the 28th but had to wait for doner recipitent to catch me up (egg doner scheme) so started gonal f on the 4th sept. Trigger shot the 15th egg collection 17th embryo transfer 22nd. So about 6 weeks from injections, sounds long, but isn't when u are actually doing something, lots of scans and blood tests in between to keep you busy . The 2ww is the worst bit! Thanku for your words of encouragement, nice when someone knows what you are going through. X
