I just ran through about a quarter of the offers. Seems like a very thorough site, has lots of information I think. I did punch in liver or nash, didn't find much but saw many organizations that could be beneficial for many people.

There hasn't been much recognition of NAFLD/NASH which is one of the battles we are fighting and part of our mission is to make services for patients like us more common and visible. This is a step along that path.

There is a place here affiliated with Sparrow Hospital called Alive. They have a gym, track, exercise classes, healthy eating sandwich salad shop, physical therapy along with massage therapy etc. They have an outdoor trail, very nice place. I have been tossing around getting with them to see about getting at least one or two programs to talk about fatty liver to see how it goes then maybe even something for those of us that are already fighting it. I would think there are some who would like to have others to talk to that understand their fears. I just don't know what Doctors around here would be knowledgeable enough to discuss it. Hepotoligist are located several hours away.

That is the exact problem I'm having there's no Hepathologist here only GI I'm here in Maryland At least from what I've looked up I cannot find and when I Google it my daughter I see now comes up when I Google Hepathologist

I know it's hard to get a referral to a Hepatologist it seems here in Michigan.. They are several hours away and my primary has not referred me although, she did refer me to a Gastro MD that is located in another city but affiliated with a liver hospital. So that's getting closer!! The gastro I see now is an assistant to an MD who i never see unless a procedure is being done. At least I feel this time I will be speaking to someone more updated on the liver and any scientific updates, hoping he is more optimistic.

Yes I sure hope you get a better doctor this time. I really my GI but keeps saying is Functional just like everyone else's and for me not to worry about my liver and to see him in a year never told me how to eat tell me I didn't need to exercise to lose weight I've lost 67 pounds exercising is important we need it to keep our liver healthy something with the insulin resistant I believe and even told me I could drink no I can't drink it's ridiculous some of the things that they say really has you concerned I just take the initiative and I learn things on my own and these sites that we have available to us it helps a great deal it's wonderful we have each other. I have lost about 68 pounds I weigh 137 now And I don't wanna lose any more weight so my nutritionist has told me to add a few things which one is still cut oats so I do that in the morning I feel like I'm putting on a little bit awake which is good so I just have to maintain this doctor told me to stay under 145

So your doctor says your liver is fully functional..I still ask what does that really mean?? Altho mine does say sugars are more important to watch than fats, it should be called sugar liver. I don't know, I will see what this new hay says in 1.5 weeks. He is an MD affiliated with a liver hospital so I hope to understand more and hoping he is more reassuring. Congrats on weight!!

It looks like a good site for many things. Hopefully, we can get more NASH resources in place.I haven't yet had time to look at the whole site, but there may be some other resources buried in there.
