Any thoughts on getting a consistent nights sleep. I have to take meds in order to sleep 8 hours. I have tried supplements like melatonin, and a combination herbal that makes me relax to go to sleep, but does not help me stay asleep. Benadryl helps me get 8 hours of sleep. Otherwise, I am awake after 4 hours and it takes several days to get back to feeling okay.

Sleep
Hello, yes I just started having the program with sleeping, does anything to do the liver? I know over counter things help but I'm not sure girl OK to be taken with a liver condition.
Have been doing some reading on sleep disorders and cirrhosis which I have. It seems to have something to do with melatonin levels. The most promising for me was to use a sun light during the earlier part of the day. It helps the body to produce the melatonin at night. I tried a prescribed medication and it makes me feel like I have brain fog.
I found if taking melatonin - less is more.
Taking the least will give the most sleep.
I have taken 300mcg and get 6hrs unbroken sleep ,I seldom sleep more
than 7 hrs so it works for me.
By taking less it encourages your natural melatonin production where as taking
3mg or more will suppress your own production.
I take Olly Sleep that has 3 mg melatonin. Where does one find less than that. I just started using a sun lamp in the morning. I have read that it can regulate the melatonin at night. Hopefully, I can ditch all meds if that works.
