This is a link to my blog which talks about some new results from a clinical trial by Terns Pharmaceutical. Very interesting early data.

One good TERN-101 deserves another, comments about a NASH clinical trial
Hi Wayne,
thanks for sharing. Hypothetical question: assuming the further testing keeps showing good results, how much time between the phase 2a and the drug actually reaching the market? Are we talking 5-10 years or more like 20-30?
Also, in the end of your post, you mention "for most of us who have no chance of a transplant". Hence, I have another question: NASH patients don't qualify for a transplant if the condition worsens?
No way to know timing, of course, but if everything fell as they hope and they could get breakthrough status, it would be theoretically possible to see a drug late 2023.
Stage 4 NASH and cirrhosis are the same thing so the comment really referred to the fact that there are so few organs available for transplant that most patients aren't even considered for listing and many die on the waiting list. Being very sick is just the first step in getting to a transplant.
Thank you
Wayne, is this trial drug going on in the UK or America?
The US for now
If there is interest in volunteering to be screened for inclusion in a future trial how best to go about it? I've been looking at several trials (esp. for NASH with a focus on a possible Fibrosis treatment).
Since the trials normally involve fairly extensive interaction with the trial team and a good amount of testing you should look at the institutions that are in your area within an acceptable travel distance and ask them what trials they are participating in. Most of them have a care coordinator that will talk with potential participants.
