Just wondering can a person do any thing to stop Nash or will it just go to cirrhosis.and the liver will quit working? Doc. said i had a fatty liver years ago and he said a lot of people had it and he said my em-zines were mild , My Gastro checked my blood work and took blood just a week ago and they did a FibroSure and it said my stage is F3 Bridging Fibrosis with many septa and provable Nash S2 moderate steatosis. I don't know what all this means .I am going to a liver doc.next week. thanks and any comments will be appreciated.

Hi,

progression from NASH to Cirrhosis is not automatic.

If you remove what is causing your liver to accumulate fat, you have a good chance of reducing the amount of fat in your liver, thus reducing inflammation and preventing further scarring.

Good general tips to do that are exercising, diet, and abstaining from alcohol (alcohol is not what caused your liver issues if your diagnosis is NASH, but it can make NASH worse).

About diet, you might want to have a look at fattyliverfoundation.org/li... .

Talk about your doubts with your doctor. I did that and drastically reduced my anxiety.

All the best,
