Is fasting good or bad for people with a fatty liver?
I understand that losing weight too fast is dangerous for the fat liver, but assuming you can fast and keep a slow and steady weight loss rate, is that still bad for your liver?
Thanks people!

Fasting is just a form of calorie restriction. Most people do a 8/16 fast eating only in a 8 hour window during the day. For example 12 to 8pm. Meaning most likely they would be skipping breakfast and starting at lunch. If you don't restrict yourself and are still eating under your TDEE by 500 or more calories you will be losing weight.
Moderate fasting is good for the liver and if you manage it so that your rate of loss is steady it gives the organ a chance to clear out unwanted material and rest a bit which is beneficial.
I fast 16-18 hours a day before my first meal with just black coffee. It has worked great for me. Lot's of energy as the body goes into a "mini ketosis" state where your metabolism actually starts burning organ fat in our case the liver since its ripe for picking also gives your liver and pancreas a break. I break my fasts with low carbs as to not spike my blood glucose levels too crazy. This works for me tho. Everyone's different.
I also fast 18 hours a day. I try to only eat 2 times, that way I only get 2 insulin spikes. Both my meals are healthy and hearty (try to do about 650 calorie each) based on the mediterranean diet but lower carb, but not full keto. My weight loss is gradual.
Hi, i am also trying intermittent fasting. But i drink water with a spoonful of chia seeds, and a black coffee without sugar ofcourse. Is chia seeds on intermittent fasting good enough to start with?
Chia seeds are so packed with lots of good stuff, so much so that it might break your fast. You should definitely keep eating Chia seeds but I would include them in one of your meals when you're done fasting. I heard you can put a little MCT oil in your coffee and it won't break your fast.
