Propofol during colonoscopy

Hello all. I had a colonoscopy done yesterday and they gave me an anesthetic. Propofol I believe . My Gastro was aware of my fatty liver beforehand and told me it should be fine. The day after I am feeling run down , like a truck hit me. I’m wondering if I am jaundice (chalk that up to anxiety I guess). My Prep was a two day liquid diet which had me weak to begin with . Now I couldn’t even finish my workout today . I feel horrible . I’m hoping I didn’t damage my liver in the process of looking out for my colorectal health. Smh such a conundrum . Well my question is , has anyone been given an anesthetic like this and how long does this take for the liver to bounce back ?

My liver is damaged and I had a colonoscopy a month ago, then I felt tired but I think it was almost all due to the previous anxiety and the liquid diet. 24 hours later I was fine, if you have any symptoms ask your GP

Hi 99

It is unlikely that you did any harm to your liver. You have very low energy reserves apparently which is a challenge for most of us. A day or two should have you back to your pretest condition. If not you may want to follow up with your doc.

I went through the same. For me, I really think it was just a draining experience, it took a lot out of me-no pun intended lol! It took me about 3 days to feel better again. Just a general unwell feeling and fatigue.

Yes! That’s exactly what I am feeling . It’s extremely worrisome . I worked so hard to get to a good place with my liver health since my “diagnosis” and I’m pretty bummed that I feel like crap again . Lol no pun intended

😂😂 You’ll bounce back, we live in a disease state, we are just more sensitive to changes. I got a probiotic with14 different strains, i figured wiping out my colon disrupted my gut flora and it needed to be repopulated. I do remember that did help get back on track, try that
