I've lost around 30 lbs. since being told that I have a fatty liver with enlarged spleen. Everything seemed to be improving. My ALT/AST levels looked great and was really focusing on my health. Then unfortunately I got Covid and my health seemed to decline greatly. I started having arrhythmias (PVC's) and my heart rate was always really high. Was put on BP meds for the first time in my life and stayed dizzy constantly. So many other symptoms but I wont go into it all to keep this fairly short. Recently I started having this rubbing feeling in my sternum area when I inhale. It feel like organs are rubbing together and I can feel it when I sit certain ways or squat. It almost never does it when I'm standing or sitting upright. Mostly when I'm reclined back in a recliner or oddly enough squatting and only when I inhale. Could this be my liver or spleen? Has anyone else experienced this? I'm freaking out thinking my heart might be enlarged from Covid. Is it possible for your spleen to rub ribcage maybe? I'm waiting for a CT scan but my mind is going EVERYWHERE with possibilities. There is no pain, just the rubbing feeling. My doctor said lungs sounded good and said it could be a possible hernia. I really felt like he just said that to shut me up lol.

Haven't heard that symptom before but your liver does extend to the sternum so being enlarged and irritated you might be feeling the tip of your liver moving around in places it hasn't in the past. Covid can affect the liver so the combination may have altered the geometry of your system so when you squat it pushes together differently. Just speculation here of course.
Both your liver and spleen can swell. My liver use to be huge. At one time the doctors were worried about my spleen as well and you can get a hernia. So any of those things are possible. Yes COVID has a big effect on your liver, so just try to eat right and get lots of rest, be gentle to your body and listen to it. Let it heal.
Hello, I too have an enlarged Liver and Spleen. I too lost nearly 30lbs and my pain /rubbing feeling subsided but has returned. I am getting an MRI with contrast to hopefully see what else is going on in there.
