diagnosis of liver disease can be difficult. Are you seeing a hepatologist? They are the ones qualified to help with liver disease. The ER docs are not trained to deal with chronic issues.

What kind of pain? As mentioned earlier the ER docs are not good for this unless it’s a serious matter that needs urgent fixing. I’ve been to the ER 3 times for my chronic liver related pain but since it’s not immediately life threatening there’s nothing they can do. Do you have a gastro to follow up with? I’ve had to be very persistent and have had to see several different gastros in the last 6 months to follow up on my issues and still going.

I get pain in my upper right chest by my shoulder and under the armpit side and back also going down my right side. Since May I quit drinking and my enzymes were good but now they have gone up a bit. I’ve had to see so many drs to get all the tests done and it’s taken so long and cost so much but I’m not giving up until I find my answers. They say next step is biopsy but won’t do that until enzymes at in the 100s. Maybe look into a new doc or request a fibroscan or biopsy to check for inflammation and or fibrosis. Mine came back as no fibrosis but only fatty liver and maybe inflammation but getting an MRI in the 4th. This has been a very long and draining journey and out of all 10 docs I e seen, only 2 have been slightly helpful but still not great.

I cant even get a primary they look at blood work and say they can’t help also I noticed on some of my lab work my kidneys seem to messing up also I can’t eat most nights without puking and honestly I just want to go to sleep a lot and I get confused easy I’ve only found out about it back in may but I thinks it’s been going on 2 years or more they removed my gallbladder 2 years ago and said that was the pains but I believe it was the liver instead

Idk how your insurance is but I’ve been calling around during this whole deal and I think I finally landed a dr at hospital to really look at me. After so many visits I’ve learned they really won’t help you except to say what they see and don’t see in scans. I saw an Intragrative dr today who has a good talk with me about diet and exercise and keep up with blood work. It’s expensive but it might be something you can look into as they can order certain tests as well and keep an eye on you. My dr spent 90 min going over everything with me and was the first dr out of 6 to actually tell me and agree with me that my liver is under stress and causing the pain. He still believes there’s hope for me and I hope he’s right but it was so refreshing to actually get to talk to a dr that said yes the liver can cause pain. Diet is strict so it’s not fun but hope I can keep things from getting worse. All I can say is keep pushing until you get the answers you need. If there’s nothing that’s east to see they will brush you off.
