Very recently diagnosed with fatty liver disease, have yet to see gastro or hepatologist, referred to a Dr who is both... Have been in horrible pain for a year. What can I do to ease pain? Is any one else losing a ton of hair? I keep seeing conflicting things on diet as well. Im 35 years old, 5'4, 140lb, don't drink.. was on elimination diet bc my PCP thought I had allergies so for the last 8 months I have pretty much only eaten chicken and sweet potatoes every single day, with no salt or seasoning or oil etc.. I lost about 60 lbs. Does the pain ever go away? what more can I do?

I didn't have pain until I went into the Nash and it has never been sever like that. Do you still have a gallbladder? Are they missing something, is it more than just fatty liver. Please have them do testing when you see the next dr.
I still have gallbladder, my lipase levels were higher than normal so sono checked for pancreatitis and gallstone and those showed fine so they say. I have asked them to test me for numerous autoimmune related things and until they saw liver I think they just assumed I was crazy. It seems I need to try for another Dr., possibly. As I am not a Dr and this is what theyve told me I'm kind of at a loss..again. Maybe Hep/Gastro Dr can tell me something..Thank you.
My gallbladder showed nothing too. It had no stones, it was diseased. At least that's what they found when they took it out years ago. Took care of all my pain. My pain even went down my left arm like I was having a heart attack. That was years ago. Good Luck.
Hello Hillary Welcome! I think you need to talk to your doctor about this pain. He will know what to give you. I've had pain but never like that. I'm thinking there is something else to do with it. Just my opinion, of course. Please see your doctor. God Bless.
well that's a little scary. I have seen numerous Dr.s and been to my PCP probably once or twice a week for last 8 months complaining of this.. I'll have to try to find someone else again. Thank you <3
When I was diagnosed with nafld my symptoms included hair loss. I have been mostly trying to follow a Mediterranean diet, although a bit off the wagon the past 2 weeks! and my liver function tests show much improved function the hair loss has now cleared up. Also hair loss can be a sign of anaemia. Worth checking that too x
Thanks! I hadn't really seen much on it and have been stressing myself out pretty bad. Im trying to get more of a balanced diet, more iron and veggies in but its been slow going with the pain. Ill ask about anemia. ty so much
