Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well today. I received my CT scan results this morning and my primary doc said I had a benign cyst on my liver. She is going to treat with Omeprazole and if the pain still continues in a month she will refer to Gastro. First of all, are they able to tell if a cyst is benign without biopsy? And second I was diagnosed with Fatty liver through ultrasound but she has not addressed that at all. I am seeking a second opinion!

Hi
Yes, I would do the same because she hasn't sorted what you out. Please take care of yourself Lynne
Ask her more questions to find out her reasoning. If not comfortable then get another opinion. I am not sure why she chose that drug, it is used for acid reflux, heart burn so for a liver "cyst" it seems a strange drug regimen.
Being diagnosed is as process, hopefully each piece adds to confirm what is reallly going on. So asking why there is a discrepancy between the results can help you understand the whole picture. That's why additional tests are ordered to provide more info before treating. It is possible both are correct. Get on tbye internet and start reading. See if things add up to your condition and treatment.
Best wishes and prayers for answers and healing on this new journey!

Highly doubt they are trying to resolve the cyst-
