I was at the ER recently due to a diverticulitis attack. They did a CT to confirm. Nothing was said to me about my liver but I read the report later and it said I have a mildly enlarged liver. Normal contour and density. No lesion. All bloodwork normal. I do have a low functioning gallbladder that gives me occasional dull pain. I am completely spooked about the liver enlargement. I’m 52 year old woman, post menopausal, only about 15 pounds overweight. I do drink wine daily but rarely more than 2 glasses of wine (which I’ve stopped due to medications I was prescribed for diverticulitis). I plan to see my GI doctor as soon as possible. In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or advice.
Thank you
BJ

I think the first thing is to take deep breath. You are right to get your condition analyzed because of the enlargement but they have said normal contour which says your problem probably isn't advanced and they don't see a density issue. Now, to be clear, tests at that level aren't proof and you do want a better examination but unless there are other concerns a lot of anxiety probably isn't warranted. Only your doctor can help you with that but many of us wish that we had that kind of situation so glad you are here but you likely won't be motivated to stay here in the end.
Thank you so much for responding. I will definitely check with my doctor. I still would like to stay because there is so much insight. Should I be at the beginning of any liver problems, I know I can get some great advice here! Thank you again!!!
