4 Years post transplant and found fat in liver

Hi. I am 4 years post transplant. I have been doing well. However, my checkup after/during 2020 COVID STRESS I had gained some weight due to staying home and sudden stress and boredom. My doctor said my labs and imaging showed a fatty liver. The gift I was given I had caused some damage to it. Made me feel horrible.

But after vaccines, being able to get back to gym and exercise again I now live a normal healthy life and lost 25lbs. But I try hard to keep that beautiful gift healthy. My hepatologist has told me my liver is Happy. Today I go get a Fibro Scan of my happy liver. Just to make sure all is good. But life with a fatty liver is different from those with a normal healthy liver. So,I continue on with a healthy regimen and that is why this group will be good for me.

Thank you.

I just try to eat clean. Stay away from Fast Food! If stuck with fast food I choose a cleaner selection. Yes I do have the ocassional Mexican food selection, I am from Texas after all.

You're doing really good. I need a little more carbs than, Though I do try to keep it lower. There is always some special occasion that sabotages me. Food is my addiction and that is why I am here... Because my fatty liver has turned into Nash 2

Yes I visited my diet dr. Yesterday & he said not to figure net carbs but to figure whole carbs and to go back to the portion size of meat and sides to be more proportionate with figuring whole carbs and do better in weight control!! Ron

Hi Meme

Glad you got a handle on it. We occasionally see people who receive transplants who seems to think it is a free pass to the old ways. Good for you.
