What's the deal with fats?

Hi all,

My weight is controlled but I thought I try the keto diet. But after doing it for a couple of days intense pain started in the front and rear of the liver area. I do have gallstones but it does not feel like it was due to gallstones because the pain is still around despite fasting or not eating fatty food. So my question is because I have fatty liver should I do now fat low carbs? Does fat even if it is good fat cause harm? To an already fatty liver? I have no diabetes or high cholesterol.

Thank you all,

And may we get through our pains and sorrows with patience and our heads high.

It turns out that Keto makes the liver work harder because of the excess protein. The easiest fat for the liver is monounsaturated which is why we recommend olive oil. Take a look at the diet information on the foundation website for more specifics.

Hey Nash,

Yes I did but there seems to be a new research (just one it appears) that says too much unsat fat can cause harm too. What do you think? here is the link

All saturated fats are inflammatory. Monounsaturated fats range from not inflammatory to somewhat inflammatory. That is why we recommend olive oil. The explanations are on the website
