How long does it take for a fibroscan score to improve?

Mine seems to have improved over 3 months just through swimming three times per week rather than once per week and without dieting just by exercise. Am being re scanned in 6 months in case it was a false score. Obviously I’ll try to exercise more and eat less but am just wondering how long it took you. Thanks in advance for your replies

I’m not sure, but my initial FibroScan was on May 9th. At my August 10th visit with the hepatologist I asked if another FibroScan would show improvement at that point as I’d lost 20#. She said it wasn’t really long enough to expect an improved FibroScan at that time. My ALT & AST levels have dropped to normal range though with the change in how I eat and the weight loss.

That’s very interesting and helpful thanks. Yes I think my fibroscan may be skewed. Others have told me they give very varied readings. Well done with your weight loss. The liver nurse did say to me that increasing exercise rather than dieting is the most important thing to begin with.

It’s sometimes a guessing game. I had foot surgery and haven’t been able to exercise for a bit snd my hepatologist told me not to stress about it because although exercise is important, with the nash the diet is most crucial. So I should continue to focus on eating right and Tgen add exercise back into my routine when I’m able. 😊

Thank you Cats2018. I’ve just had surgery fr something too and can’t exercise now for a while so good to hear. Ive lost half a stone anyway in the week of surgery just through being ill! Might help my liver lol
