Insomnia connection?

AllHis profile image
6 Replies

I have no diagnosis, only suspicion of Fatty Liver. I thought I'd ask advice from this community. I have a "tearing" pain under my right ribs becoming more frequent, bile in my stomach (copious amounts & in the esophagus 9 months ago) and unusual side effects to medications...

I have the results of my sleep study. Insomnia.

My question is do I pursue a liver biopsy, or put this on hold for now? All opinions welcome. Thanks!

Well, increasing pain is rarely a good sign. I'd want to understand what process is causing the pain. Can't say that a biopsy is the best step but it certainly is an important diagnostic tool. I've had 3 and learned important information from each.

Hi,

I would ask for an ultrasound as your symptoms could indicate Gallstones.

When you get the pain try sitting up and leaning forward, this takes pressure off the organs in the area.

As for the biopsy I would have other tests first and definitely get referred to a specialist. Biopsies are not advised before diagnosis usually as they are not without risk or side effects.

I have to state that I have no medical qualifications, I am merely talking from personal experience.

This is going to sound bad but i mean it in the best possible way, I hope we don't see you much on the liver forums.

Good luck

Rita

So sweet of you to wish me the best! I am so happy to be here where we can discuss a way forward.

My story is under " Baffled by Bile."

So much of my pain, discomfort, and symptoms are deja vu. I have had my gallbladder removed years ago, taking 31/2 years to diagnose because of no stones. So me and my goofy mind can't move past the fact that my gall bladder was removed because it was diseased and not functioning. What's the consequences of this? Does disease continue minus the gallbladder?

I have always been a diet person over prescriptions, as side effects always haunt me. Take Benadryl for example. It makes my heart race as if I had had a pot of coffee. So I am so happy to find a diet that's been personally tested and freely given to me from Wayne. I can't thank him enough! Hugs, Wayne!

Everything on the Internet is $$$$. Been there. Done that.

I'm suspicious of the damage I've done to my liver.

I wish to warn everyone that turmeric suppliments with black pepper extract is very dangerous! And never take it with Nexium! I so want to help others avoid my stupid mistake!

I have been suffering with the rib pain, neck pain, chest pain and insomnia since Febuary, and want off this merry-go- round! Everything prior to Febuary was intermittant. It's settled in now. I was happy to find this community and give diet & exercise a try as I wait patiently for physician's acknowledgement that something's just not right!

I just afraid Wayne's going to think I'm a stocker! Lol!

Hi again

You can still get the stones develop without the gallbladder if the bike ducts are blocked or inflamed.

Glad the diet is working for you. Sorry I haven't seen your other posts, I've been AWOL for quite some time from the forums, getting my head round some new obstacles in my own journey.

I'm sure nobody would ever think badly or chased by you in any way.

Rita xx

How do you deal with insomnia? I really don't want to take a prescription. And I am fighting mad right now on getting a diagnosis! Why do doctors think anxiety disorder!?! Rib pain, chest pain, and dysplasia...anxiety?
