I have NASH, I have Type 2 Diabetes and I don't know whether it's blood sugars or the liver but I feel so tired some days I want to just sleep and can exhaust myself . If I take the dog for a walk for an hour, swim for an hour and undertake basic kitchen cleaning- I am wasted. Not like me.

I feel this increasingly. Is this my liver?

Fatigue is a frequent symptom of liver disease so it certainly could be. One of the causes of fatigue is a diet without enough fats. A key fuel for the body are fatty acids and the best source is extra virgin olive oil. I don't know if this will help but here is a link about that

Not sure but I DO know that very high blood sugar can make you exhausted. Have you seen your Dr about this?

I would check with the Dr to know for sure.

Take care and come back here and let us know how you're doing.

Hugs,

Welcome Philomena,

I understand your dilema as I too have diabetes and NAFLD/NASH. As I write my eyes are closing but my blood sugar is okay. Although I suffer from hypertension but in hot weather this can plummet. However, not today, it’s ok. I have eliminated all I can therefore in my case, I am pretty sure the tiredness is caused by my liver.

Listen to your body Philomens, and go and have a wee lie down ... that’s what I do.

Take care

X

I don’t have a definite answer, so this is just my opinion, but In addition to NASH, I also have hypothyroid & pre-diabetes. I know all 3 can cause fatigue. Prior to my NASH diagnosis I experienced more fatigue than usual. I continued to blame the thyroid except that it was far worse fatigue than being hypothyroid ever caused me. I thought it might be just getting worse with age until the NASH diagnosis. It seems to me the fatigue from liver disease was far worse than I ever previously experienced.
