Living with cirrhosis for over 5 years.

I was originally diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor that destroyed my pituitary gland in Jan of 2013. I apparently had this tumor for several years prior. As they conducted thorough test it was discovered that I had non alcohol related cirrhosis. As well as kidney damage, a bleeding spleen. The first time I knew the liver was in real bad shape was the first bout of hepatic encephalopathy. (High ammonia in the brain). I was comatose for a few days and slowly regained consciousness. After intensive treatment most of those issues have been kept in check. Although I will occasionally become disoriented or unresponsive. I was told my only hope was a liver transplant, but so many other health issues my Dr pretty much laid out that I was not a likely candidate. So here I am a 53 year old disabled man in the late fall of my life, but hey still here and kicking.
