I am a Type 2 diabetic and realize that my diabetes and prescriptions that I take-for all my conditions- can affect certain medical problems themselves. Lately, I had to have a TURP surgery(my second in 10 years). I am pleased with the results so far; but I do have a concern at the same time.
Over the past year, I have taken Tamsulosin(Flomax) to help improve my urinary incontinence; however, I am still plagued with urinary frequency-especially at nightime. The surgery has helped with my urinary stream flow and Pyridium has also helped with the burning sensation previously experienced. However, I don't want to be medicinally dependent and resigned to this type of treatment for the rest of my life. Neither do I want to be at my prostrate and bladder's beck and call-never knowing when I will have that sudden urge to go,without warning. Long trips which include visiting family members or events really hamper my participation in these important events to me. Medicines treat the symptoms but don't determine or correct the cause. Any suggestions? I go to see my urologist again on September 5th at 8:40 a.m. and I would like some information and ammunition to discuss with him.
