Hi all,

Just to say Cosmo501 and I are fasting from 4/5pm today to 4/5pm tomorrow. Anyone is welcome to join in :)

In case anyone is interested, a couple of things I have done to prepare are:

1) cook the meal for the rest of the family today during my eating window, so I'm not tempted to lick the spoon later :)

2) Have higher fat foods today to increase satiety, whilst keeping energy intake the same.

3) I intend to have some salted cashews just before commencing fasting, to keep my electrolytes as good as possible.

That's a great idea re the family meal. I hadn't thought of doing that! I'm also eating higher fat foods today, and will have some broth or bouillon before starting.

I'm planning a gentle 3km run in the morning to kick start the day, and hopefully feel energised, however if it doesn't feel right, I'll give it a miss.

Electrolytes?

I always add a teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt to my 1.7-litre pot of Green Tea.

Can I ask, does a good sea salt have the same properties? Don’t know anything about the difference.

I think Himalayan rock salt is one of the best, and rock salt is better than sea salt which is better than “ordinary” salt.

Thanks. I must try it instead of sea salt.

Great idea - and I do not have a scheduled meal tomorrow, but I have 8 tonnes of gravel to shovel on a community footpath project this weekend - and I might need all the energy I can find.

If anyone would appreciate the exercise - and can get to South Warwickshire for Saturday morning, please get in touch.

I hope all goes well with your community project today! Sorry we’re too far away to help.

Thank you for the thought.

Two of us shovelled a tonne of gravel twice yesterday, but today we had plenty of volunteers - and I did little except drive and get the trailers loaded. ...but I have so far burnt 507 of my target 500 active calories for today, and 1,081 yesterday!

How are you both doing Cosmo501 and S11m ?

I'm feeling fine so far!

Hi Stoozie - all going well thanks. Decided to fit in my run before starting the fast, then had a small meal before 5pm. No hunger at all. Had some water on getting up. A busy day ahead, so I think time will fly. Feeling fine. Speed walking to the dentist as I type 😖

How is it going for you?

a bit of hunger but am shifting furniture and building flatpack to distract myself! Well done on your run :)

That sounds like a great distraction. I’m feeling a few hunger pangs too, but nothing major. Can’t work anymore though, so will distract myself with housework for the next few hours. Earlier I thought it was going so well I might try to extend it through til the morning... but maybe that’s a bit ambitious for now... still undecided!

wow I'm very impressed at the wanting to continue. I deeply enjoyed my dinner!

Will happily do another one whenever anyone fancies though.

PS I broke at 23 hrs because the flatpack instructions were so bad.

Do I have to hand my admin badge back in? :D

🤣🤣🤣 I nearly broke earlier but made it in the end. Definitely not ready for 36 hours today! Thanks for your idea, and for your company. It definitely helped me 😊

Sorry... was laughing at your suggestion to relinquish your badge, not because you struggled with the flat packs! 😖

I'm glad I made you chuckle :)

Is there anyway we could have an ongoing platform to join in with others during a longer fast?

We are doing a group fast now! I think it's going to become a thing, if you want to come back to the group.

Oh! I just stumbled on this. I feel like an archaeologist.

I was just thinking about this yesterday! That reminds me of the difference between then and now! Thanks for flagging it up!

Haha! I am troubled that I have no recollection of what flatpack made me stop fasting!
