Good morning everyone, here's an interesting article about fasting and what I particularly like is the advice to diabetics and the safety aspect of fasting which comes up all the time and I really like the finishing paragraph:
"When coupled with a nutritious diet and healthy lifestyle incorporating fasting into your routine could benefit your health."
Thank, Hidden Fasting is definitely becoming "mainstream".
It was written not by a journalist, but by a Nutritionist... but they are careful not to state categorically that (I)F is beneficial - but they do say:
"Fasting has been shown to have many health benefits, from increased weight loss to better brain function and improved gut health."
I tend to feel a bit sick and spacey with no food at all, but donโt want to sweat the 16-8 everyday if itโs not really enough to do any good. Iโll try a 24 hour one now Iโm on LC. I might last longer.
Hi Jerry
A very good article and definitely something to think about. I didn't have breakfast this morning but did have a late lunch. I think what I might try is to go without breakfast and lunch and have a nutritious dinner in the evening.
I like the fact that it indicates that it's good for gut health (just as Dr Michael Mosley indicates in his 'Clever Guts Diet Book') and gut health is definitely my main interest and from what I've been reading a lot of illnesses are affected by the gut.

Hi Alicia, thank you and I think you want to see what works for you and how you feel but it sounds like you've a lot to gain as our stomachs need to settle down sometimes.
So good luck with your fasting and let us know how you get on as you will get support on here if you get hunger pangs when fasting. ๐
