Intermittent fasting and jet lag 🛫

Hi everyone,

I was surprised to read that intermittent fasting is a great way to avoid or reduce the effects of jet lag. It is because as well as our bodies responding to light they also react to hunger which effectively helps to reset our bodies clock and reduce the impact of jet lag.

Personally I think I'd feel crazy with hinger after a 16 hours without eating...😱

Here's a link about it with a diet plan before a flight:

I love the name of the new group and wish it well.

Jerry 😊

I think another issue is that when you're sat on a plane, you're bored and eating is an easy way to alleviate boredom. Thanks for the link - interesting

Hi, Hidden

Yes - we have to get our bodies into "fat-burning mode" ...which IF is good for.

Where does the 13% come from?

If you are doing a "proper" fast. e.g. a 21-day water fast, all your energy comes from stored fat.

Long before I started IF, I occasionally did a 36-hour fast - but that was when I had no appetite, due to gastrointestinal problems.
