Glasses for eye infection

Had bells palsy for almost 2 months. Palsy eye has an infection. Used antibiotic gel twice. Healing slowly when indoors applying eye drops frequently and using night ointment. Going outside makes eye super dry. Tried normal glasses...not enough protection. Saw moisture chamber glasses with detachable cups online. Gp suggested ski googles. Anyone else have dry eyes and what do you do when drops are not enough? Thanks

It's a really tricky one. Some people have success with glasses from this company eyewear-accessories.co.uk/ although personally the ones I've tried I have not got on with and they are expensive. Certainly wraparound style glasses help. One thing to check is that you're not allergic to eye ointment. I'm allergic to something in the ointment which triggers an infection. Have you tried a thick gel at night rather than ointment just to check that isn't triggering the infection? Have you been referred to ophthalmology? If not I would request a referral, they may be able to put in a punctal plug to help. There is more information on this page: facialpalsy.org.uk/support/...
