Returning symptoms.......

I was first diognosed will Bells, 21 Feb 2016 had the metallic taste, numbness on face and tongue and horrendous head pain.  The majority of my facial paralysis has recovered to the extent you cannot really tell.  I've been pretty good but over the past week I have started with a little numbness on my tongue, face and eye flicker also discomfort on the nerve at the back of my head. Not sure if this is normal does anyone know?  Or should I just be patient I know the recovery can take several months....

Hi Michael well it seems u are recovering slowly the pain In the back of your neck is caused by cranial nerve damage it will subside but wen its at its worst try a hot pack applying pressure in the nerve ie acupressure point and try some arnica cream it worked wonders for me

I find wen u get tired my eye still flickers and yes unfortunately still some numbness but it will get better u are only 8weeks in

I got sick of people telling me to be patient but unfortunately it's all you can do

I also started taking vitamin b12 every day as it helps with nerve regeneration

Stay positive I know it's tough having had a stroke and bells within 5days of each other

Keep your diet healthy no alcohol lots of fresh fruit and juices and hopefully u will feel like your old self again soon

Hope this helps :)

Thanks Carm, we've spoken before hope that things are looking up for you.  I've been taking 1 x B12 tablet 1000ug daily for several weeks and totally avoided alcohol, not that I drink much anyway.  I've had a lot of good progression so far and tried to delegate as much as I can at work to avoid excess pressure thing is I haven't had any time off since diagnosed but have a good boss who has supported me well.  I'll just have to learn patience that's not so easy for me.  Thanks for your support.
