hi all I have just recently been diagnosed with diabetes 2 no medications as yet just statins and have 3 months to improve my weight and get them sugars down. Anyone got any good tips to help?
I am currently eating more healthy and getting more exercise and hopefully lose some weight on the way.
I've also signed up to do the 1million steps for diabetes uk. Hopefully this will help too.

Hi Shelley! Welcome to EXI and welcome to Type 2 Diabetes! (I got my diagnosis last August and even though I knoew I'd previously been pre-diabetic it was a big surprise to me!) I'm a few months in now and thankfully so far managing well.
Physical activity is a really good tool for any diabetic or pre-diabetic person in managing their blood sugar, so I'm glad you've found us!
you sound like you are doing so well, I wish I could have a pinch of your motivation. An important thing to look out for with diabetic control is hidden calories, have the diabetics team supported you with literature and helpful websites? There are also programmes to attend such as the Desmond, which patients find beneficial.
Loosing weight is certainly preferable to a life time of medication and potentially an insulin regime.
