Pants/pads for 10 year old boy

Hi I hope someone can help, my son is 10 years old, has giggle incontinence and v occasionally soils a small amount with this too. Up until now we just change his pants/trousers but we need more of a solution whilst trying to get the incontinence improved... He has seen me use pads and has asked me for the same thing recently (which choked me up), and I have bought the pants for wetting before but they did not feel right for him so he didn’t accept them. He has not been thought of possible ASD but does have some sensory issues. Does anyone have any recommendations? Pads that go in his pants would be the best but tbh but when I search I find nappy type pads which I know he won’t go for. I am looking for whatever people think are good. He can pass a small amount of urine or a much larger amount. Thank you

Our son is a little bit older than yours. He is twelve and wears pads that are a bit like giant sanitary pads. They fit into and are held in place by his underpants. I know you can get them in different absorbencies. We use the 'Super' size ones as he needs them to absorb a whole bladder full. They are a little bit bulky under his trousers, but the less absorbent sizes are bound to be better. He gets them through the NHS Continence Service, but I know you can get them through websites such as incontinencechoice. At primary school, he used pullups, but the big advantage with this type of pad over pullups is that you don't need to take your trousers off to change.

Depends and several of their competitors sell pads for men, they refer to them as ‘guards’ or ‘shields’. They may be too large for your son, but might be worth a shot. Goodnites at one point offered a pad for bedwetting kids that was rumored to be just the Depends Guard rebranded so they may work. Alternatively, a folded wash cloth or hand towel placed in the front of his underwear might offer enough protection if the wetting is pretty light. It might feel a bit bulky to him at first but honestly nobody would ever notice.

Thank you Jloomis for replying. Gosh having a look there is a lot out there...I will see if there is anything for kids or buy the smallest mens as a trial maybe. I am concerned he will reject the thickness in his pants, but hopefully when he finds out it helps protects him he will go for it 🤞

Hi many thanks, I did not even think about pads being provided by the continence service. Sometimes he passes a full bladder full also. Is it possible to let me know the brand, or send me a link or a photo of the pads you use? Something that goes in his pants sounds great. Thanks so much
