Hi there, it's been a while since we disimpacted my 9 year old. Is it necessary to increase the maintenance dose gradually to get to the disimpaction dose, or could we go straight to the disimpaction dose on the first day of half term? I'm sure I'm seen advice for both. Thanks!

Mum-of-3- as per NICE guidelines this guide will explain the process of disimpaction: eric.org.uk/childrens-bowel... This is done gradually as children will reach the stage of completing a disimpaction at different stages.
