My husband is almost blocking me from giving more peg as the doc said we can reduce it now and that his tummy isn’t hard. I’ve read that you can be full of soft poo so you can’t totally tell that way. Just wanting to tell him why this isn’t the end. What do you see that signifies we need to go more?

He’s also having alot of tummy pain so we are both eager to be done with this

I would stay at the maximum dose for another day at least before you start reducing the doses down extremely slowly ie one dose every few days until you reach a suitable maintenance dose to remain on

Did any hard lumps come out in thhe first few poos as this is what you are trying to clear. It's a tough process but you definitely don't want to finish when you are not sure and have to do it again or be wondering if there is still some in there.

Once you are finished you. Will need to maintain a Base dose for a long time. The consultant we had said the base do see will need to be for as long as thee withholding. So if they have been withholding for a year it is min a year for the base dose. Aim is to never let it get hard to poo again so it doesn't trigger withholding.

We had it about 4 years ago and came through it but still have movicol on hand on the rare occasions we see withholding again. Good luck
