We found it pretty ineffective, you want movicol as a stool softener and a stimulant to help with the withholding
Hi Suechap, I’m sorry you’re going through this. In my experience lactulose does nothing. If your toddler hasn’t been for a week and is withholding then she is going to need suppositories. My son, now 8, was fobbed off with lactulose since he was 2 months old and now has to suffer with piles because of the damage that was done. Ask to be referred to the continence clinic, they are fantastic. If you don’t have one of those where you live discuss giving your daughter senna, which makes the bowel move and also a softener such as movicol which will help her to go everyday xxx
liquorish will work, 3/4 small peices should help her poo. Lots of fluid and diet/exercise. I'm looking at getting some senna from doctors too.
It dose work, its tasteless put the meaurment in any drink she likes. She won't know its in their. Also try prunes/fig bisuits malt loaf usually helps loads of fibre. Toilet routine as well.
