Disimpaction

My daughter will be 6 in two weeks. She’s on 1 sachet daily, have previously been on 6 throughout our journey. We’ve had these issues since she was 3. We started this yesterday as a few weeks ago she didn’t go poo for a few days and has been on and off with accidents. The worst has been this week, coming home from school with poo in her pants pretty much every day. The advice on the Eric website is stop as soon as watery stage is reached. Advice I’ve read here is watery stage for 3 days and then slowly reduce. Which one do I follow?

If you have a look at the disimpaction instructions on Eric to confirm but I think by 6 years the maximum would be 12 sachets - once you’ve built up to the maximum it can be a few days at that dose depending on how bad the blockage is. I think my daughter was on the highest for nearly a week before we reach watery ‘tea’ stage.

Then stay then another couple of days and then slowly reduce it down (about 1 sachets down every few days) until you reach a maintenance dose that she can control. Make sure you have a good toilet routine going at the same time.

It’s hard work but it helps soiling…eventually! Good luck keep going!
