Lactulose is pretty ineffective, try switching to movicol and look into disimpacting him. Feeling for an impaction is very unreliable.

We found movicol and lactulose did not work for us as when disimpaction. what my grandson needed was enemas and then once clear, we used picosulphate daily to keep the bowel muscles moving. Using movicol orlactulose type meds just made it run out of him as liquid.

How was he with the enema. My son is nearly 3 and I just can't get 8 sachets a day of movicol in him. No matter how hard I try. I think he needs an enema. Only up to 6 sachets but its all watery poo coming out. Gp just said stick with it. Get the movicol in him. It's just not that easy. Hope your grandson is well x
