Hi, I'm new here and just looking for some experiences/advice. My son is 2 and has had trouble with his bowel movements for the past 9/10 months, he had a severe episode of constipation and hasn't really become regular since then. He is currently on Laxido and I'm still trying to figure out his maintenance dose, just finished second disimpaction as first I didn't follow correctly due to little info given by GP during lockdown. What I'm wondering is I've seen from many posts that this issue seems to persist for years and I'm concerned about potty training/school, has anyone had any successful improvements? GP seems to think this is common and will grow out of it but I am worried if there is a cause and we're not investigating so won't be resolved. Shod I be pushing GP for tests? To add my son never latched when he was born, had silent reflux and was on gaviscon until 12 months when he went onto cows milk. Due to all the feeding/digesting problems I believe his problem could be related to dairy. Any advice? Experience?
Thank you for taking the time to read

You might want to try getting some probiotics into him - though if you think he might dairy intolerant then live yogurt might not be advisable but it could help. Ask you GP or pharmacist is they have proibiotics for children. It could help build up the good bacteria in his that gut that the early years on gaviscon might have reduced.
Also if you think it could be diary you could remove it from his diet for a bit and see if it helps?
Try not to worry about toilet training yet and certainly not school, just step one foot at a time. My daughter has just started school after a year of on going impaction issues and it’s beginning to sort it’s self out slowly. You’ll get there!
