disimpact now or wait until school breaks up?

Hello, my son is 5 and needs disimpacting. He started holding onto his poo when he started school. Slowly bowel movements became less regular and more painful. Since starting back at school recently, he has increasing overflow. I kept him off for 4 days to try and disimpact him but it wasn't working (only got up to 5 sachets of laxido daily), then I decided to give him up and send him back to school last week as he was really missing it. He has come home really soiled again today.

My dilemma is: do we speak to the school and try to manage the situation for another week with pull ups until school breaks up? Or keep him off again and try again for another disimpaction?

Unfortunately if he’s that backed up a full disimpaction could take a week or two possibly slightly longer to reach 3 days of the watery stage. I don’t think it’s wise for him to be at school for that.

I can’t tell you if you should remove him from the last weeks school or not but if you think not being at school will effect him mentally then perhaps speak to the School? They may be okay with him being in pull ups for the last week.

Either way you’re going to need a nice free couple of weeks to disimpact.
