It's taken 3.5 years battle with the n.h.s for my dd who is now 7 years old .it started when trying to potty train my dd is a twin I knew something wasn't right from the start 3 weeks ago she went into hospital had a scope done then the next day had urodymanics studies .my daughter has a good size bladder which was filled at 280mls the results has showed she has a little over active bladder not mager .when it came to realse her output on a speacil toilet that what's gave us the answers .my dd sphincter does what it wants she has no control over her sphincter .the outcome is medication and in and out catheter.i really don't want my dd to go down the in and out of catheter she a very bright girl and at 7 years old I really think it would damage her mentally.we were told about bi feed back machine but on the n.h.s this is not done till she reaches around 11 or 12 years of age as she young at present .not sure if it could be done private at 7 either. It's been a hard battle with the n.h.s see different people under 2 health boards 3.5 years of drink more don't drink orange squash nk blackcurrant could be behavior .I was like banging my head against the wall with these people .A her bladder a good size B she not a behavior child she never been told of in school .she bright ahead for her age in all areas doctors should listen to parents more .3 5 years to get these answers putting my daughter though a very traumatic experience having urodymanics .we had to go through the urodymanics to get the answers really that should of been done 2 years ago not 3 5 years with fighting a very bad n.h.s system complaints had to go in having a diagnosis makes no difference but we needed to know what was wrong we pay for her pull ups as the n.h.s ones are no good and we pay for her incontinence watch that we set for her for school she very independent changes herself .for you parents out there keep fighting for your child a parent instinct is very very rare to be wrong x

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are going through such an awful time. I don’t know what area you live in (these things are such a postcode lottery) but we have received bio feedback on the nhs. We had our first session yesterday at the Evelina children’s hospital in London.

Maybe try pushing again or seeing if there is a children’s hospital near you that you can get referred to.

Good luck

Glad you have answers. It’s lovely knowing you’re right and your instincts are right. My daughter is 7 too. ( the one with bladder incontinence). I know the fight. We had years of it. I’ve worked with nursery kids and fostered and have an older son so I knew she had issues but kept being told it was a toilet training issue! Thankfully at 7 they accept it isn’t! I actually think age 3-5 was hardest as everyone thinks it’s a training issue! Being a parent is a fight!
