Constipation or impaction?

Hi all. I am new to this forum and very grateful for support. My question is, how do I know if my daughter is constipated or impacted? She became constipated at 2 years old (when my breast milk supply suddenly reduced), then it seemed to improve and she would do large, soft poo every 2 days, no pain or soiling. Then she became constipated after a bug, had a hard poo once in a week so we disimpacted. She got very ill on the disimpaction dosage and ended up in a and e and were told to stop the movicol. Two weeks later she was constipated again, a gap of 4 days then 2 very hard large poo. So we are back on movicol at 3 sachets a day and she has loose, runny poo. Do I need to increase and disimpact or lower to get one soft poo a day? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you. Fran

When you say she became ill, what happened? It sounds like she needs disimpacting again and fully.
