Oxybutynin only option?

My daughter is nearly 9. Voids 10+ times a day, drinks only water. Urine measures 45-135mls. Referred to paediatric surgeon who wants to put her straight on to oxybutynin. I have fought for an ultrasound which I'm getting. But if this shows nothing abnormal are there other things we should do before putting her on this drug for the foreseeable?

Thank you for replying Heidi. I don't know where you live but could you try and get a referral to the Evelina at GOSH? It sounds like you need someone to take a fresh approach to your daughter and look at the other factors you mention. Good luck with the mri x

Hi there Heiduli. Your chat has provoked me to ask about my daughter. I have a 13 year old w primary enuresis. Had all the tests - bladder assessment and ultrasound but not MRI. What can this reveal? She’s been on desmo which sometimes works, oxybutynin which didn’t work. I’d always been led to believe it’s just one of those things and didn’t know there could be other causes. She’s also hyper mobile and has low muscle tone. All development stages have been delayed and she has mild learning difficulties. Should I be pressing g for an MRI? Sorry for hijacking your original question Amogo x

Oh Heidi I'm so sorry, I feel your pain. I'm going to venture down the homeopathic path while waiting for the ultrasound of the bladder. 5 months now for us so not as long as you but still frustrating.
