After a bit of advice. My 5 year old has started to have daytime wetting accidents. Not full wees but often damp patches in his pants. He’s been dry since he was 2 1/2 in the day and 3 1/2 at night. He is always leaving going to the toilet until the last minute and rushes when he goes. We often need to convince him to go cos he’s too busy doing something.
This week we made a conscious effort to get him to stay dry, he was dry for 2 days and one day with a tiny wet patch. Today he’s had to change his pants twice after school.
It always seems to be worse when he’s having a laughing fit or is really engrossed in something. This morning he complained of a stomach ache though (he’s fine now).
The fact that he can be dry if we make a big effort makes me question if it’s anything other than behavioural as he can be dry. I’m wondering if I’m missing something. Should I speak to a GP or is it too soon. It’s been the last 2-3 weeks where it seems to have got worse.
Thanks in advance

We have been having this battle ourselves since last Oct with my daughter.
She’s had 4 UTI, i felt awful the first UTI as I thought she was just being lazy wetting herself day and night after being dry since she was 2 (now 5) and ended up not passing poo this year for 12days...which we have found out the UTI and wetting are all connected.
My urologist nurse said it’s so common when they start school they end up regressing as they can find it difficult.
Is he constipated? If he has a full bowel that can press on the bladder and tiny bits of wee come out. My daughter had this problem until the constipation issue was resolved. A trip to the GP sounds a good idea. x
