My son has had constipation issues since birth . He has seen several drs hes now under the royal london hospital. We have been using peristeen since october and his soiling has been so much better. He also has 4 movical a day plus 10mls of dulcolax and daily peristeen. In febuary this year he was vommiting alot gp told me to go to our local a and e they said he needed to have kleen prep which he did. He needs to do the trans stydy next week and the consaultant at the hospital has said that his right side is constantly loaded. His said if this next xray shows it loaded in the right side again he would recommend the Ace stoma. I would just like any advice if this has happend in this. Thanks in advance xx

I would be very cautious of this. Our GI wanted to this with our son. He is autistic and not very verbal. We consulted with another GI who asked us who will hold him down while we administer for the clean out? He will not tolerate being touched. They’re actual plan was for us to bring him to hospital twice a month and hit him with a Ketamine dart to start administering for clean out. 🙁

How does this teach him how to toilet train I thought. It felt like we had given up.

I just want to share what happened to us. We felt somewhat misled and definitely unsupported.

I don’t know if he’s had testing for Hirschsprung’s or a contrast enema done yet?
