Is she constipated?

Hi. My 9 year old a couple of years ago was impacted. Went through the regime of movicol and sodium picosulfate and then started to wean her off of it. Last month or so she’s been running back and forth to the toilet all the time. Sometimes every 10 minutes she’s in there. She says she needs a poo. When she wipes there is some on the tissue but never a proper poo in the toilet. Is she constipated?

Almost definitely yes. Get her back on the movicol and see how she gets on. She might need a disimpaction which you can discuss with your GP. Once she’s in a good routine with toileting, keep her on a low maintenance dose of movicol long term and make sure she’s drinking approx 1500mls a day of clear fluids a day. Also watch not too much dairy. Some people use prune juice or flaxseed as well. Good luck
