Botox...help! My daughter goes in on Monday to have Botox injected in to her sphincter muscle in her bladder to encourage her muscles to relax so that she can empty her bladder fully and avoid infections. Has anyone had this procedure and can offer any positives or negatives. I am so in two minds about going ahead as I am concerned it will make the accidents more frequent. Thanks .

Hi there , my daughter had this the start of August , she recovered well from it , In fact didn’t moan once , it has really relaxed her bladder , she self intermittent catheterises, a lot more is coming out in the catheters so that tells me her bladder is relaxed rather than spasming and her leaking , her pads have been a little damp but nothing compared to what they were before which is making her happier x

That’s wonderful news, I’m please to hear a positive story ⭐️ Since the op a few days ago my daughter seems to be able to empty better and says she doesn’t have to push so hard. I’m just hoping the infections stop. She has a terrible fear of the catheters which would be a great option for her. Did you daughter struggle with the catheters or does she define it quite easy ? Thanks for replying x

My daughter has never bothered , however we have since found out she has an insensate uthethra, so this explains why she has never been bothered about them , how’s your daughter now ? It took 10 days before we seen the improvement x

She seems to be going really well...fingers crossed and it was an instant result. The operation was a nightmare Hough as she responds really badly to any intervention and has a terrible fear of everything medical. How old is your daughter ? Is it just issues with her bladder she has? Mine has issues with her bowel too as a result of the fear of the toliet .. I’m seeing a gastro specialist tomorrow x
