Docs seem to do very little

Hi. My 9 year daughter has regular daytime accidents. Mainly wetting but sometimes poo. The docs seem to think she'll grow out of it. She also has 3 accidents most nights. Sleeps through the mat alarm and desmopressin no help.

I an trying to make her drink lots to stretch bladder but only when she has a few hours anyone. Trying to get her to do pelvic floors too but she often gets depressed and refuses. She now says she has mental health problems and can't be helped.

Consultant tried to get referral to GOSH but been passed to UCL and still waiting for appt.

Any advice or ideas welcome at this stage.

Concerned her friends are starting to notice smell (she always wears tights and skirt at school and almost always black leggings to minimise anyone noticing) and also what will happen when her period arrives.

We are both so down hearted about it now.

Maybe she’s constipated? Have you tried disimpaction with movicol?

Sounds as if you are being referred in the right direction. Am assuming they have already ruled out constipation as a cause? Re the smell etc - have you tried getting her to wear some Tena products or similar? There might be some that would be small enough for her?
