My daughter is 11 and we are going through a disimpaction over the summer holidays. Any tips to help with a raw and sore bottom? She coping amazingly well but a bit fed up x x

Prevention is best if possible, my son showers twice a day and applies sudocrem at the end of both showers, himself in the shower. I think encouraging self care is really important. If sudocrem isn’t working try the other product people have referred to on here, begins with M, can’t remember what it’s called!

I think the cream that Robinia is referring to is Metanium which you can buy over the counter. Many parents swear by it but unfortunately it didn't help our son (who has very sensitive skin). We did find that Vaseline worked really well as an alternative though.

Hi yes using pull ups for a few days but we have stopped disimpaction now, so hopefully no need soon x x

she is able to fit into baby pull ups at 11.. must be slender :D Is she not changing as soon as she has not made it in time? The only way she would really get nappy rash is if she stayed in / sat in the dirty nappy and or also weed in it... is that the case? if so why is she not getting herself to the loo sooner? is it behavioral? You could maybe try regular toilet sits, that might help more now if your coming to the end of the disimpaction. Just thinking prevention is better than cure. :) x

Why is she getting a sore bottom are you using nappies of some kind

Maybe you should look into that and they might be giving a sore bottom since she is sitting in a soiled pull up
