Movicol dosage and damp pants

My son is 4.5 and has been on maintenance dose of Movicol of 1& 1/2 sachets per evening for the past 6 months.

He has has a withholding issue and I can generally keep him accident free by sitting him on the toilet for a poo every day. He quite often is damp in his pants though. He tends to start weeing in pants and then finish it in the toilet (if he can be bothered 😬!) I worry that this is a sign of constipation and it is affecting his sensation but he is def not constipated and would benefit going down to 1 sachet as experiencing occasional smears in pants as the Movicol is making him quite loose.

Does anyone else have this issue? I’m wondering if I reduce his dosage he might feel his poo a bit more and that might help with the dampness in pants.
