Impaction clear out

Hi, new here! My daughter has been given movicol to clear out impacted stool, we have been told to give her 8 sachets a day (tho its almost impossible to get her to take any now) she has had lots of runny poos today but is still screaming that her bum hurts. Is this what happens does it come out all runny or is this over flow and she is yet to clear the impaction hence still being in pain?

Hi. We’ve started impaction clear out today for our 4 year old. We’re getting movicol into him by first mixing it with 60ml of water then adding it to hot chocolate or milk in his cereal with puréed fruit on top. It seems to be masking the taste and he doesn’t seem to notice when he’s having it. I’m sure you’re tried this already but just in case you haven’t. Check out the poo nurses video on Disimpaction if you haven’t seen it. We found it really helpful.

We chill ours after making it, add it it sugar free squash or alpro sweetened and give it in a poundland baby bottle. Weird but it works!! Told the dentist and he said basically you gotta do what you gotta do - just brush her teeth thoroughly.

When they take that many sachets yep, it comes out like the runs. If the bum is sore, it could irritate it further (mine complained about this) - we found the blockage came out like bits of grit and stuff in the liquid. Then the rogue poo had evidently broken into bits!
