Hi. My 6yr old has been out on 240mg desmopressin. We started a week ago and she is still wet. Next appointment is not until the end of March. Do we keep giving her the Desmopressin?

This sounds exactly the same as us ! My daughter is 7 and we have been on desmopressin for a month now. She is also still wet. We have to get her up for a wee when we go to bed and give her the tablet then. Her night nappy is already pretty wet then, but giving her the tablet at bedtime hasn't helped either ! We have an appointment on Saturday - I will post again after that, in case it can help.

That would be great to hear what they say at your appointment. Thanks.

Hi there - it might be a slow process - certainly we didn't see much change right away. So if it was me I'd keep going until your next appointment, and see how it goes - and that would help the decision at end March about what to do next. Did you have some advice to follow around drinking more and that kind of thing as well? Good luck :)

Lots of advice and we monitor her fluid due to repeated UTIs.

Hi there. My daughter is nearly 8 she takes 240mg of desmopressin too, I was getting frustrated with there being no difference between one, two or none, still wet. I bit the bullet and took her nappy away, just a bed pad for accidents underneath, guess what?! No wee. She can do this on two tablets, we have tried less, but she does have accidents on less. Maybe try no nappy, you never know!

Thanks for the reply ladies. We've noticed that she is dry until about an hour before she wakes up on the 240. They are concerned about the size of her bladder being too small. Might set my alarm for earlier and get her up to pee while her pull up is still dry.
