Possible night time

I am wondering if anyone can help me find out what is going on with me. I’ve been on an antidepressant for a couple years but recently bumped up the dose. Then shortly after added a new antidepressant with that one. After starting the new one I had a couple nights where I would wake up from biting my tongue or would fall asleep and bite my tongue. Also was clenching my jaw extremely hard all the time. That subsided but about a month and a half later when laying in bed to go to sleep a rush or pressure like sensation would hit my ears and kind of jolt my whole body or kind of shock it so to say. It would happen a couple times going to bed or while falling asleep. After this happens I will literally sleep through all my alarms and not able to wake up after 12 hours or sleep. Then once I do I can barely stay awake that day. Have to take a nap and go to bed early. It is happening more frequently now. My doctors aren’t helping. So I didn’t know if anyone could tell me if this could be seizure related or any idea what is happening ?? If so please let me know! Thanks !

Hi Kenziesteele

I’m sorry to hear your doctor isn't helpful, as it sounds unpleasant.

If you are still having these symptoms we would suggest you talk to your doctor again, as you do need a medical diagnosis or explanation.

Unfortunately, as we are not medically qualified, we cannot say if your symptoms are epilepsy or not. A number of medical conditions can cause symptoms similar to epilepsy.

If you haven’t already you may wish to view our information on sleep seizures, seizure types and how epilepsy is diagnosed.

I hope you are able to get a diagnosis to help with this.

Regards
