Medication withdrawal

Hi. I was wondering if anyone has come off Tegratol and had negative emotions. My Partner was on 1000mg of Tegratol twice a day and the GP has changed him over to Kepra, telling him to just stop the Tegratol, the neurologist has changed this and put him back on Tegratol 800mg twice a day to lower slowly but he’s having really bad anxiety ever since his Teg was stopped, leaving him going cold Turkey.

And thoughts please, any thoughts will help.

Yes I was on tegretol for six years, emotion and memory, even trying to remember that period was an absolute disastrous period of my life, I have JME epilepsy, and went onto keppra onto Epilim etc. Ironically when I went off the teg in 2004, I certainly went onto my more 🤗 part of my life. It could be as you say "cold turkey", I found side effects of medication, Fycompa, [for the epilepsy] did not wear off until three years later, stopped Fycompa, November 2017, effects, hyper tension, complete lack of sleep, lasted until mid 2020, [one of the nicer things happening during the pandemic👍] Hope he is not as bad as that but patience?👍

I'm on both those medication plus sodium valproate and clobazam they did take me off tegretol for a while and it affected me really bad my anger was terrible I turned very nasty and my emotions were all over the place they are supposed to take u off them slowly
