Hello to everyone I’ve come here for support and understanding, maybe someone could give me more info, I have a 12 yo nephew, last year he suffered a seizure which he fell playing at school and started shaking well he went on epilepsy treatment so unfortunately in this pandemic he got worse, mid this year he suffered from auras he lost conscious a min approximately, he suffered those auras at least 3 times kind of within 2 or 3 weeks apart, then he suffered another seizure this one was kind of strong began with a scream (he was angry that day) went to the Dr. and changed his dosis because he got bigger and heavier so they said those crisis he had were because of the dosis (500mg now 1000mg) he has now be doing well like 3 months with no problems until recently he suffered another seizure this one was mild, if anyone could have experience with someone having seizures and lost of consciousness please let me know. 🙏

Hi It sounds like your nephew has had a difficult time. It can take time for the doctors to find the right treatment. But things are sounding more positive.
Communicating with people on here and through other social media, is a really good idea. So I hope you hear from others in this community soon.
If you don’t, as well as managing the HealthUnlocked community, Epilepsy Action has other ways for you to contact others. These are:

From our experience, in most case people find it helpful to talk to or contact people who understand what they are experiencing.

I am sorry to hear your nephew has got epilepsy, there are some types of epilepsy which appear in the adolescent stage of life. Seizures can be frightening for others to witness and have a big impact upon the families around them as well as the person whose life has been turned upside down with the seizures. I have epilepsy too and also scream before I drop and have a full seizure, I believe it is very common to do this and is helpful for others to be able to go to the person to help them. Your nephew sounds like he is in the early stages of treatment and at the beginning there is a bit of trial and error finding the medication that is right for him and at the right dose, and as you are describing as he grows his medication will need to be adjusted accordingly. I wish you and your family all the best and hope your nephew can find the right medication to stop or reduce his seizures.
