Double dosed Keppra 500mg

I'm on keppra 500mg , I've doubled dosed a few times in the morning. Sometimes I would wake up take it right away well kinda still foggy from waking up. Long story short I felt fine. No major side affects . I feel a little more tired then usual in the first part of the morning but better as the day went on. Everyone is different but this was my experience.

It must cause you some worry when you take double your medicine. Have you thought about asking your pharmacist if they sell dosette boxes or something similar. These keep your medicines organised and may help you to remember if you’ve taken your morning dosage.

I used to take 500mg before bed and 500mg in the morning when I woke but switched to 1000mg before bed and have been seizure free for 10 years now. Always speak with your GP about upping/altering your dosage though.

Hi Pepex , I take 1500 mgs day and night but I use pill box organisers make up 4 days of meds at a time you can buy them in charity shops , pharmacies and some retail shops also try Amazon or Ebay , you should be fine if you only take double dose as long as it doesn't happen to often but I suggest you do what I do hope it's useful to you .

I am on keppra 1500 in the am and 2000 in the pm. So I can't imagine that an accidental double dose of 500 having too much effect on you. But as you say, we are all different.

How about the keppra XR? My son was on 2500 mg at night. Would that work better for you?

One feels this isn't a strong anti-convulsant medication. Many year's ago I took an overdose of 250mg tablet's, emptying 6 full boxes of keppra strip's. It didn't even knock me out.
