Sometimes after seizures I will be really cramped and find it hard to walk or even stand. Twice after a fit my lower half of my body has been totaly paralysed and when i get my movement back i have been confined to a wheelchair and crutches lasting up to 2 months. Some people say just carry on like i am but some people say i should be in a wheelchair permanently. What should i do??

Hello SaschaB

What a difficult situation to find yourself in.

Although I can’t say what the best thing to do in this situation is, I can hear that you are trying to find the best thing for you when these seizures happen. I wonder though whether you have spoken to your neurologist about the effect of these seizures and about whether you are still getting the best treatment for you. It is possible that if you could get better seizure control, this may not be as much of an issue: epilepsy.org.uk/info/treatment

If you want to talk about this, please feel free to get in touch with our helpline team: epilepsy.org.uk/info/suppor...
